  1. Use a PC to connect to NETGEAR WiFi Extender.

  4. Once you are logged in then go to Setup > Wireless Settings.
  5. Check the value in the Password (Network Key) field under Security.

Steps to be followed to connect manually with extenders which do not have Ethernet port are given below (WN1000RP, for example):

  1. Firstly reset your NETGEAR range extender to factory default settings.
  2. Connect with the extender via WiFi.
  3. Open the NETGEAR Extender Login page using http://mywifiext.net. Then you have to enter a username and password. Note: Username and password are case sensitive.
  4. Then go to NETGEAR Extender Setup wizard to set up your connection to your Access Point.
  5. Then finally reconnect WiFi devices with NETGEAR WiFi range extender by either WPS button or manual connection.

What status does blinking arrow LED lights give on my NETGEAR WiFi Extender EX6100

The LED which stands for Light Emitting Diode on NETGEAR EX6100 extender shows the connection status between the wired or wireless router and the devices connected to it. One can also diagnose problems with extender by knowing the LED status. Meaning of Various LED Status are illustrated below:

If the arrow LED of the extender is blinking then it means that the WiFi signal is weak and you have to place it to the more optimal position to enhance its performance.

No Arrow LEDs Are Lit

This shows that EX6100 is at a good location.

Left Arrow Is Blinking

It means you have to place your extender nearer to router if because for any reason it is not possible then you have to enhance the line of sight between the router and the extender.

Right Arrow Is Blinking

It means you have to place NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender nearer to the client i.e wireless computer or devices that are using the extender’s WiFi network.

No LEDs lit:

If all of the LEDs are off that means are not blinking then it means that there is no connection.
